Qualifications
: Graduate of an accredited Canadian Occupational Therapy Program or successful completion of Canadian OT certification exam process. Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO). Membership in Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists or Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists is an asset. Must have a minimum of one year work experience as an Occupational Therapist. Experience in assessing and working with a pediatric clientele, with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder is necessary; familiarity with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) and mental health experience is an asset. Ability to work independently in a direct and consultative model, as well as a member of a multidisciplinary team is essential. Experience with current outcome measures such as The Sensory Profile 2, Peabody Developmental Motor Skills, Beery-Buktenica Developmental Test of Visual-Motor Integration, and the McMaster Handwriting Assessment. Strong written communication skills. An ability to be flexible and responsive in delivering services. Demonstrated clinical experience, proven communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively as a team member. Some travel may be necessary. Knowledge concerning cultural diversity and proficiency in other languages will be considered assets for this position.
