Overview

Lafarge in Saskatoon is seeking an experienced  Concreter​ Foreperson  to join our asphalt paving crew. As a  Concreter​ Foreperson , you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of concrete forming operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities:

Formwork Layout and Installation:

Lay out concrete forms and pins for the required pieces that will be poured, ensuring accuracy and precision. Supervise and participate in the installation and removal of concrete forms, ensuring proper alignment and structural integrity.

Team Leadership and Development:

Train, mentor, and develop direct reports to build a strong and cohesive team. Provide guidance and support to crew members, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

On-Site Coordination:

Perform on-site coordination of manpower, materials, and equipment to ensure efficient project execution. Coordinate with suppliers and parts room to order materials and supplies, ensuring timely delivery and availability.

Project Management:

Coordinate with supervisors for document inspections on completed work, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulations. Create and submit electronic timesheets in a timely manner to accurately track labor hours and project costs.

Safety and Compliance:

Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Report incidents, injuries, and near misses, and participate in the investigative process to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Qualification

Minimum of 5+ years of flatworks forming experience. Minimum of 2+ years in a supervisory role. Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and schedules. Thorough understanding of construction procedures and safety practices. Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean current driver's abstract. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work long hours and weekends as required. Must have CSA-approved safety boots. Valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean current driver's abstract. Must be able to work in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks associated with concrete forming work.
