As the Parking Strategist, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of parking strategies and policies that support the social, environmental and economic priorities of Council and The City of Calgary. Primary duties include: Lead politically sensitive city-wide projects and develop policies affecting multiple business units. Report to Council on parking strategies including creation of new policies. Develop City of Calgary parking strategies and policies that can be applied consistently and effectively across City Departments. Ensure collection and analysis of parking supply and utilization data to substantiate implementation strategies, commission research and parking studies. Work directly with Business Improvement Areas (BIA) and Community Associations to administer capital fund by prioritizing public realm improvement projects. Liaise with and advise other City departments including Corporate Planning Applications Group (CPAG), Land Use Planning and Policy (LUPP), Urban Development, Calgary Transit, Roads, Transportation Planning and the Calgary Parking on all parking related issues. Monitor and advise on parking facility rates for downtown, Transit Oriented Development sites, Business Revitalization Zones (BRZs), and major new or upgraded developments. Develop and design parameters for new parking facilities as well as participate in the planning process for new parking facilities. Qualifications  A degree in Civil Engineering or a related Engineering field, you must have at least 8 years of relevant professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng. Designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practicing status OR licensure and practicing status by the first day of work Click here for more details OR; A master's degree in a related field and at least 4 years experience. Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered. Knowledge of municipal development practices, procedures and public sector operations are required. Experience in project management, strategy development and/or policies development will be considered assets. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with internal and external partners.
