We are currently recruiting an Emergency Dispatcher with a flexible schedule to work afternoon and midnight shifts in our Mississauga monitoring station. The successful candidate will professionally represent Sonitrol in all forms of contact with clients and police and fire agencies. 

The ideal candidate must have experience in a call centre environment, with excellent customer service skills. She/he adjusts well to a fast paced environment where energy, enthusiasm, multi-tasking and professionalism are required.

The candidate must work independently and have a very good attention to detail. She/he must have strong communication skills and be both familiar with shift work and flexible to work afternoons, seven days per week. Some midnight shifts may be required as needed. 

We are looking to hire candidates who are full fluent in English, both oral and written. French spoken language skills are a definite asset.

The position is full time, working forty hours per week. As we are a 24 hour, 365 days a year environment, you can expect that weekend and holiday work will be a part of your position with us, as will assisting with covering other shifts during vacation and sick calls. 

The How

The successful candidate will monitor an alarm console by responding appropriately to visual and audio alarms Answer incoming calls requesting help, make outgoing calls to clients and to police and fire agencies, perform incoming data entry requests and support the other operators on shift Access to reliable transportation is recommended as transit in the area is very limited.  The position requires a contribution to the team effort through a combination of good work ethic, keen attention to detail and quick response to rapidly changing circumstances.

Proven experience use of a multi-line telephone in a business setting Experience in a call centre an asset Excellent oral and written communication skills in English  Fluency in French is desired, but not required Ability to work effectively in a team environment previous experience in building strong client relationships through good customer service Microsoft Office Word/Excel must have flexible schedule to allow working afternoons, midnights, weekends and

statutory holidays

Able and willing to adjust schedule on short notice due to sick calls and other emergencies
