Waste Connections has an immediate position available for an  ADT   Equipment Operator  for our  Ottawa Landfill  District in  Navan , ON.
 

Location : 3354 Navan Road Navan, ON
Pay : $24.60 per hour, Full time with benefits, 44 hours per week
 

Summary:  Operates various equipment including articulated trucks and backhoe. May also include forklifts, loaders and front skid steer loaders.
 

Duties And Responsibilities:

Operates equipment for leveling and operates tractors to load materials such as dirt and rocks. Operates backhoe and articulated trucks as required. Operates various equipment for general site preparation, landscaping, snow removal, and related assignments. Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices, including routine inspection and maintenance of equipment May be required to watch the public drop off pad, litter pick, shovel, mow lawns. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
 

Minimum Job Requirements:

High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Heavy Equipment Operator experience.
 

Working Conditions And Physical Effort:

Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as; extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
