Reporting to the General Manager of IT, the Application Support Analyst provides functional and in-depth support to all project and ad hoc requirements involving the numerous software applications utilized by Volker Stevin Canada workforce. This position is also responsible for the development and optimization of current IT resources.
Position Accountabilities:
Operational Support:
Communicate process changes, enhancements, and modifications – verbally or through written documentation – to management, peers, staff, and other employees so that issues and solutions are understood. Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmers. Liaise with various business groups in the organization to facilitate implementation of new or improved business processes. Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new processes, and other post-implementation support.Procurement & Deployment:
Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications. Assist in conducting research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.Working Environment/Conditions:
Casual business attire Sitting for extended periods of time. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard or mouse, and to handle other computer components. Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals. Hybrid Work. ,
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:
Qualifications & Experience
College Diploma or University Degree in business administration, computer science, or management information systems. SQL programming and querying / Database Management. Power Platform (Power BI, Power App, Power Automate) experience a plus. Working knowledge SQL & Powershell Scripting environment and API calls. Functioning knowledge of network and Windows operating systems, including SQL Server. Business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data modeling. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Crystal Reports, SQL 2008, SQL 2014, SQL Management Studio, SSIS, SSRS Experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware, software, and standards, and data retrieval methodologies. Generating data for use in reporting software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flowcharts. Create systematic and manual operations procedures in both technical and user-friendly language. Apply statistical and other research methods into systems issues and products as required. Apply project management skills and project management software skills.
