Technical Expert, Engineering – Conceptual Design - Advanced Design Department

In your role, you will

Participate in the conceptual design and performance analysis of various aircraft configurations and lead numerous activities Help determine detailed requirements and formulate the design problem Establish performance parameters and measurable measures of merit for functional requirements Utilize a Multi-Disciplinary-Optimization (MDO) process, focusing on aircraft sizing and aircraft integration Explore multiple concepts and decide on a single design concept using a systematic decision-making process (trade study) model Act as an integrator/architect in tradeoff studies during the early design phases Liaise with internal and external partners on a technical basis on configuration design-related topics Provide detailed cost estimates, risk analyses and certification plan Perform technical Competitive Intelligence studies and investigations Contribute to the development of numerical tools for analysis and predictions Supervise engineering students’ internships

As our ideal candidate

You have a university degree in Aerospace or Aeronautical engineering with at least eleven (11) years of aerospace experience You have at least five (5) years of experience in aircraft sizing/conceptual design as well as a good knowledge in aerodynamics, performance or stability & control You have experience in aircraft integration You have knowledge and experience with unconventional aircraft configurations Experience with CATIA V5 is an asset You are open minded, curious, rigorous and methodical You are able to work autonomously, take initiative and demonstrate entrepreneurship You strive for harmonious cohesive teamwork and support knowledge sharing amongst team members You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You approach problem solving with a holistic view You have strong communication skills and can easily tailor your communication to suit the audience
