DUTIES

Brief description of the project :  

Thompson Rivers University, Open Learning (TRU-OL) is looking for a qualified content expert to create updates related to learner engagement in ECON 1901: Principles of Microeconomics.

 

Course Description:

Students examine a wide range of microeconomic concepts about markets and market behaviour and learn how to apply them to a variety of contemporary issues. Students develop a depth of knowledge in topics including demand and supply analysis, consumer theory, production and costs, market structure, market efficiency and market failure.

 

Course Maintenance Process:

 

The content expert will work under the guidance of and in collaboration with the Curriculum Services department of Open Learning to complete the course maintenance.

The changes envisioned are as follows:
 

  • Enhance opportunities for learner engagement through the creation of role-play scenarios and learning simulations.
  • Create rubrics for graded assessments.

 

TRU respects intellectual property laws and expects content experts to accurately cite sources and identify material that may require copyright clearance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Criteria for assignment of work:

The successful candidate will be selected on the basis of the following criteria:

  • PhD in Economics.
  • Demonstration of current and ongoing engagement in the course subject matter through research and/or the scholarship of teaching, including the dissemination of outcomes in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Proven course development skills in a face-to-face or distance environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to write in a clear and consistent style with grammatical accuracy.
  • The ability to meet deadlines.
  • The ability to work in a collaborative and consultative manner.
  • Experience or education in online course development or online facilitation is an asset.
