As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to strengthen and promote health protection to patients, staff and members of the public attending in the hospital, prior to the first day of employment with the Hospital, all successful candidates are required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination (full vaccination is required) from the Ontario Ministry of Health website or other authorized source. An individual is fully vaccinated if they have provided proof of vaccination in the form of a receipt from COVaxON (the Ministry’s provincial system for COVID-19 vaccination information) and 14 days have elapsed from the final dose. Position Summary

Registered Technologist, Mammography, Medical Imaging
Your goal in this position is to perform imaging examinations in the modalities of mammography and bone density that meet the established standards of the department and the CMRITO. You have the ability to operate imaging equipment in a fast-paced environment using good communication and multi-tasking skills. You have effective time management skills and are resourceful in handling daily department workflow. This position supports the hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.

On a practical level, you will

Perform all breast imaging and bone density examinations as required, and all other duties as requested by supervisory personnel
Implement proper procedures (re: health, safety, and radiation protection) for patients, employees, and visitors
Assume operational responsibility when on shift
Assist the Radiologist when required
Follow proper procedures for care of equipment, imaging rooms and supplies
Adhere to established policies and procedures of the Department of Medical Imaging at North York General Hospital

Qualifications

Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
Minimum 2 years of current experience as a Breast Imaging Technologist
Completion of the following CAMRT courses: Breast Imaging 1, Breast Imaging 2, Imaging Breast Pathology and Bring Your Position Upfront: Breast Positioning Virtual Lecture
Completed certificate (or commitment to complete) in Breast Imaging-Diagnostic
Experience in Bone Mineral Density is preferred
Current CBMD certification with the OAR is an asset
Basic computer skills i.e. Microsoft office, Excel, etc
BCLS certification an asset
Post-graduate experience in a hospital setting preferred
Membership with CAMRT is recommended
Bilingualism in English/French is an asset

This is a Part -Time Regular Position, 8 hours, days, evenings, including weekends in Breast Imaging and Bone Density/Medical Imaging. This position requires rotation to 2 sites (2 Champagne Drive & General Site, 4001 Leslie Street ) .We offer a highly competitive total compensation package which includes pay in lieu of benefits, vacation pay and the opportunity to join the Hospital Pension Plan.
