BRIGHTER FUTURES WORKEROne (1) Casual Position in Hearst

As a member of the Brighter Futures team, the successful candidate will be required to facilitate topics either in a group setting or on an individual basis will include life skills, living skills, parenting, prenatal, nutrition, health, safety, leisure housing, breastfeeding, labour and delivery and other topics relevant to the philosophy and goals of the Brighter Futures program. The Brighter Futures Worker(s) will promote the services of the Agency and the programs to the participants and general public.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS):
  • A Social Service Worker diploma or post-secondary education in the Human Services discipline with two years related experience working with families and children.
  • Knowledge of child development, neglect and child abuse along with the duty to report.
  • Knowledge of parenting issues, lifestyles, and prevention and intervention techniques.
  • Excellent group facilitation skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Bilingualism is required (English/French).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and use of own vehicle.

À titre de membre de l’équipe Grandir ensemble, le candidat choisis sera responsable d’animer des sujets, soit en groupe, soit sur une base individuelle, y compris les aptitudes à la vie quotidienne, les compétences essentielles, le rôle parental, les soins prénataux, la nutrition, la santé, la sécurité, les loisirs, le logement, l’allaitement, le travail et l’accouchement, et d’autres sujets pertinents à la philosophie et aux objectifs du programme Grandir ensemble. Les travailleurs du programme Grandir ensemble devront promouvoir les services et les programmes de l’Agence auprès des participants et du grand public.

EXIGENCES DE L’EMPLOI (QUALITÉS ET COMPÉTENCES REQUISES) :
  • Un diplôme en travail social ou une formation postsecondaire dans la discipline des services à la personne avec deux ans d’expérience pertinente auprès des familles et des enfants ;
  • Connaissance du développement de l’enfant, de la négligence et de la maltraitance des enfants ainsi que l’obligation de signaler ;
  • Excellentes compétences en animation de groupe ;
  • Excellentes aptitudes à communiquer, excellent entregent et excellent sens de l’organisation ;
  • Le bilinguisme (anglaise/français) est requis ; et
  • Permis de conduire valide et utilisation de son propre véhicule.
