What is the Opportunity?

Aecon is currently seeking a CAD Drafter/Calculator to join the Aecon Geomatics Team. The CAD Drafter will be responsible for providing layout information to all aspects of a construction project with a high level of accuracy, ensuring the design criteria is adhered to and well documented. Job sites can be located in various areas such as, but not limited to; Central Ontario, GTA or Barrie.

What You’ll Do Here:

Provide calculations to field staff Prepare 3D models for use in GPS and Machine Control applications Prepare engineering and survey plans Maintain accurate survey records, documentation and submittals Provide layout information at various stages of construction Calculate volumes using various software and methods Provide clear communication with client in a professional manner Maintain as-built records Provides back-up support for other Surveying staff Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by his/her supervisor Performs such other duties and responsibilities depending on the type of job i.e. grading, structures, paving or rehab


What You Bring to the Team:

Post-secondary education in Geomatics or design field Knowledge of survey practices and standards  Minimum 2 years’ experience in Drafting or calculator roll  Strong computer skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft office, Autocad, Civil 3D Experience with Microstation and Inroads software  Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills  Ability to read and interpret plans and CAD drawings  Experience with paving and road infrastructure projects and asset
