Kitimat, Canada SSRG Scarlet Security & Risk Group Full time

Scarlet Security & Risk Group (SSRG) is seeking Security Officers that are local residents of the KITIMAT or TERRACE area to join our team in Kitimat, British Columbia. Successful applicants will provide security services to a large and dynamic work site, including, but not limited to, ensuring adherence to site rules, site access control, vehicle searches, foot and mobile patrolling, assistance with emergency response, security of waterfront and port area and general admin duties.

*LOCAL RESIDENT* ALL Applicants must reside in either Kitimat or Terrace B.C. or be willing to re-locate prior to starting date

Duties Include:

  • Maintaining excellent customer service to guests, colleagues, and site workers
  • Access control/intrusion detection of site, waterfront and port area
  • Monitoring site activities, detecting suspicious occurrences and providing detailed written incident reports
  • Mobile and foot patrols of assigned area and recording daily activities
  • Processing site access requests (Visitors, Vendors, Deliveries)
  • Administrative duties and issuing/creating site access badges
  • Monitoring access control, intrusion detection and video surveillance systems
  • Emergency response dispatch and team communications via radio

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid British Columbia Security License
  • Valid OFA Level 1 Certificate
  • Valid FULL Class 5 Driver's License and acceptable Driver's Abstract
  • Valid Transportation Endorsement
  • Must be able to pass Drug and Alcohol Test (SSRG will arrange)
  • Must be able to pass criminal record check
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills
  • Willingness to work both day and night shifts, indoors or outdoors as required

Additional Information:

  • Full uniform provided including PPE. Applicants need to provide their own black, 6 inch CSA approved safety boots (boot allowance provided).
  • 12-hour shifts, day and night, 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation
  • Must reside in Kitimat or Terrace area and be able to commute daily
  • Shuttle transit from Terrace to Kitimat site and return is available
  • Applicants currently not residing in the area must be willing to re-locate to be considered for the position

Perks of the job:

  • $23.82/hour (plus overtime)
  • Extended Health Benefits after 3 months of employment
