The Full Charge Bookkeeper position Robert Half is currently filling and could be a good fit for you. The long-term contract / temporary Full Charge Bookkeeper will work in Breslau, Ontario. If you think you have what it takes to be responsible for all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements, as well as establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, you might be a good candidate for this job.

How you will make an impact

- Ensuring correct and punctual monthly, quarterly and year end close

- Retaining historical records through the accurate filing of documents

- Supervising tasks of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

- Tracking fixed assets and constructing depreciation schedules

- Putting together the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement

- Performing reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, as well as payroll processing

- Studying and implementing federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions

- Handling processing tasks for accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections
- Wide ranging experience with Payroll Functions

- Earlier work involving Payroll Tax Reporting

- Previous experience working with Reconcile Payroll

- General familiarity with Full Cycle Payroll

- Skills in Weekly Payroll

- Foundational knowledge in Accounts Payable (AP)

- Practical knowledge of payroll for under 100 employees

- Quality experience with union payroll

- Microsoft Excel experience

- Hands-on experience with year end closings

- Proven knowledge of bank reconciliations

- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience highly desired

- Strong familiarity with Accounting Functions

- Good understanding of Process Payroll

- Experience with Quarter-end

- Well-founded grasp of Billing Functions

- Accounting Software Systems experience

- Prior experience with Government Remittances

- Comprehension of month end closings

- Capable of working independently with minimal oversight

- Earlier work involving Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree

- Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports

- High school diploma or similar accreditation, and an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended

- Experienced in accrual and cash basis of accounting

- Previous experience with payroll preferred

- 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping

- Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request

- Strong organization skills with a sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks

- Be able to adapt and thrive in constantly changing environments
