POSTING DATE:  January 25, 2024                                                                                                              POSTING #038-24 (OPSEU)  HURON PERTH HEALTHCARE ALLIANCENOTICE OF VACANCY POSITION: SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST – Adult Primary site: Alliance WideCasual POSITION SUMMARY:The Speech-Language Pathologist is concerned with communication, cognitive or swallowing disorders of adults; and often works as part of a team with other professionals to provide consultative and direct treatment services to the inpatient and outpatient populations. The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for counselling of clients and families, as well as for appropriate referrals to other professionals or services. REPORTS TO: Manager, Therapies & Professional Practice DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible SALARY: $43.37 to $56.22 per hour QUALIFICATIONS:- Master’s Degree or equivalent in Speech-Language Pathology- A member of good standing of the College of Audiologists and Speech and Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification EXPERIENCE:- Clinical expertise and experience in stroke rehabilitation and demonstrated knowledge of current stroke rehabilitation best practices including management of dysphagia.- Experience in both clinical and video fluoroscopic assessment of swallowing- Experience with inpatient service delivery is an asset.- Experience with critical care patients is an asset. ABILITIES:- Demonstrated ability to practice effectively in an interprofessional collaborative environment.- Working knowledge of and experience with theories and principles guiding adult learning and patient self-management approaches.- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management, problem-solving and innovation skills.- Proven flexibility and a high level of initiative.- Evidence of continued professional growth and/or professional development- Appreciation of resource utilization.- Computer skills, particularly Meditech, MS Office, and/or other software- A valid Ontario driver’s license APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL THE POSITION IS FILLED Please be advised that we are no longer accepting emailed or paper-based resumes.
