Position Overview

Responsibilities include:

Demonstrate ability to provide continuous quality patient care. Adheres to all safety and health regulations and demonstrates safe work practices. Accept and work within the framework of the Hospital and Nursing Service’s philosophy, objectives and policies. Under the direction of the RN, provide designated/delegated aspects of patient care. Maintain and clean equipment and carry out other duties related to maintaining a safe, clean environment. Utilize a positive approach to problem-solving in all aspects of job responsibilities. Demonstrate excellent communication skills ensuring effective interpersonal and interdepartmental communication. Participate as a supportive and contributing member of the health care team. Respond to “Codes” as required.

Les responsabilités comprennent:

Adopter une approche positive pour résoudre des problèmes dans tous les aspects des responsabilités liées à l’emploi. Démontrer d’excellentes aptitudes pour la communication afin d’assurer des communications interpersonnelles et interservices efficaces. Apporter son soutien et sa contribution en tant que membre de l’équipe soignante. Répondre aux « Codes », selon les besoins.

THIS POSITION HAS BEEN DESIGNATED BILINGUAL.

Expérience

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

Completed Grade 12 or equivalent required. Completion of recognized Health Care Assistant course required or currently enrolled in a University Nursing Program and having completed year two . Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support is required for positions in Emergency, Intensive Care and Central Relief Team.

Éducation (diplômes et certificats):

Diplôme de 12e année ou l’équivalent requis. Formation reconnue comme assistant(e) en soins de santé requise ou être inscrit(e) dans un programme universitaire en soins infirmiers et avoir terminé la 2e année. Obligation d’avoir suivi une formation en réanimation cardiopulmonaire conformément à la politique de l’employeur. Certification à jour en soins immédiats en RCR pour les postes à l’urgence, aux soins intensifs et dans l’équipe centrale de soins relève.

Qualifications and Skills

Must be able to speak French at the predetermined linguistic level. Demonstrated ability to use appropriate body mechanics and transfer techniques. Demonstrated ability to write, speak and understand English. The ability to complete the position on a regular basis.

Qualifications et compétences

Aptitude à s’exprimer en français à un niveau linguistique prédéterminé. Capacité démontrée d’utiliser les principes de mécanique corporelle et les techniques de transfert. Capacité démontrée d’écrire, de parler et de comprendre l’anglais. Capacité d’occuper le poste sur une base régulière.
