Job Role and Responsibilities:

Technical Architect will:

  • Support environment updates and delivery pipelines writing and maintaining this code.
  • Integrate and secure cloud services for applications.
  • Create technology patterns for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS including low-code and no-code deployments.
  • Support the Go-CLOUD product maturity by implementing products and features.
  • Assist in contributing to the product road map creation, service material, process refinement, and communication plans.


The Technical Architect will act as a subject matter expert on a variety of cloud project initiatives such as:

  • Enabling and designing the Government of Ontario's clouds primarily Azure, and AWS.
  • Designing and configuring advanced security for existing and new cloud providers.
  • Assist with complex migration from on-premise to public cloud providers.
  • Assist in updating and creating provisioning pipelines for the Government Cloud offerings by writing and maintaining a provisioning code base for infrastructure delivery as well as data gathering\reporting.


Evaluation Criteria (Must Haves):

Cloud Knowledge and Experience - 40%

  • Demonstrated experience enabling and designing the Government of Ontario's clouds primarily Azure, and AWS but some experience with Oracle and Google cloud technology would be useful. This experience would need to be with Cloud environments that are of the same scale as the Government of Ontario Cloud or BPS environments.

Communications and Customer Service - 15%
  • Demonstrated experience of working with customers/key stakeholders and using communication skills to resolve operational issues, negotiate or document process-related intelligence.


Analysis and Problem-Solving - 15%

  • Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting and resolving Azure/AWS/GCP/Oracle Cloud environments incidents and working with vendor partners.
