Payroll Specialist

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity in the Non-Profit industry based in Alexandria, Ontario, Canada, for the role of a Payroll Specialist. The selected candidate will play a key role in managing payroll operations, ensuring the accuracy of employee compensation, and administering benefits packages.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for both hourly and salaried employees
• Employ the use of ADP Workforce Now and other accounting software systems for efficient payroll management
• Carry out thorough payroll reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records
• Administer insurance and benefit packages to employees, ensuring they are well-informed and their needs are met
• Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing prompt and accurate responses
• Manage and maintain employee records, ensuring data integrity
• Execute tasks related to the 401k - RRSP Administration, ensuring adherence to regulations
• Carry out auditing tasks as and when necessary
• Leverage social media platforms such as Facebook for necessary postings related to the role
• Liaise with union employees, ensuring their payroll needs are efficiently met.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Payroll Specialist role or similar within the non-profit sector
• Proficiency in accounting software systems is necessary
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now is desirable
• Experience with Ceridian, Dayforce, and similar platforms is a plus
• Knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration is required
• Ability to use 'About Time' software effectively
• Must be capable of performing all basic accounting functions
• Auditing experience is a significant advantage
• Familiarity with benefit functions is crucial
