Registered Nurse- Medical 3C- Temporary Full Time

Duties:
Participates and collaborates with other health care providers in provision of patient care.
Effectively uses the Standards of Nursing Practice and the Nursing Process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of the patient.
Provides health teaching to patients and family.
Provides assistance in planning corrective actions to ensure safety for patients and staff.
Is compliant with legislation, organizational and departmental, regulations, standards and procedures related to occupational health and safety.
Qualifications:
Certificate of competency in Ontario Current certification in venipuncture (I.V. certification). Telemetry or ECG training
Experience:
Previous experience with care of cardiac, acute stroke, peritoneal dialysis, and oncology patients.
Skills:
Demonstrated patient teaching and excellent discharge planning skills. Demonstrates strong critical thinking, problem solving, time-management, and leadership skills.
Ability:
Demonstrated clinical competency in planning and providing care for medically complex patients. Demonstrated ability to use, and interpret, patient monitoring tools (i.e., telemetry, NIHSS tool, CIWA Scale, DKA assessment tool and protocol). Knowledgeable using and caring of all mechanical equipment required for patient care. Demonstrated team-building skills with proven ability to work collaboratively on a fast-paced interdisciplinary team while maintaining successful working relationships. Demonstrated ability to meet and interact with people in a pleasant, professional, responsible and reassuring manner, both in person and on the telephone. Possess a high level of self esteem and confidence, flexibility and creativity. Demonstrated Behavior consistent with Hospital Mission, Vision, Values and Standards of Performance.-
