Randstad is excited to partner with an Engineering Consulting Firm in Hamilton in their search for a Structural Engineer P.Eng. Our client specializes in Structural Engineering and pride themsleves on quality work. The Strcutrual Engineer will design structural components of multi-disciplinary projects with the direction of an Intermediate or Senior Structural Engineer. Projects will include Institutional, Industrial, Commercial, and Residential. Advantages

Responsibilities
•Responsible for detailed structural design of low-rise buildings of buildings including commercial, residential, institutional and sports/recreation complexes projects and conveying design information to the CAD Technician staff
•Perform design and evaluations in accordance with sound engineering principles, with technical skills, good judgement, innovation and cost-effectiveness while meeting applicable codes and standards
•Work with the project team from conceptual and preliminary stages of design through to completion
•Review and evaluate solutions and designs with the Project Manager
•Ensure quality compliance and accuracy for your portions of projects by maintaining design/checking notes including coordinating with drafting staff.
•Support construction by performing shop drawing review, compliance inspections/reports, resolving construction problems related to structural design and coordinating with clients and contractors
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
•Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation.
•5 years of structural engineering experience in a consulting environment with multidisciplinary projects (co-op experience does count),
•Good understanding of building structural design, the Ontario Building Code and relevant codes and standards,
•Knowledge and experience in analysis and design of concrete, steel and masonry structural elements for institutional, industrial, commercial, residential and healthcare
•Ability to conceptualize in three dimensions
•Familiarity with the building permit process,
•Knowledge and/or experience in and use of structural software such as STAAD or SAP
