Certified Athletic Trainer

Required Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited Athletic training program with Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Preferred Education and Experience: Prefer at least one year of previous experience in an outpatient setting.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Must possess current state licensure, national certification, and CPR certification.

Summary/Objective: Assess and treat injuries to bone and muscle under the direction of our Orthopedic Physicians. They prevent injury through the use of devices such as tape and braces, recognize and evaluate injuries, and provide emergency care. Also functions in the office as directed by physician

Essential Functions
Provide athletic trainer treatments and consultations to a variety of athletes and non-athletes in accordance with the written and verbal instructions of supervising physician. To include: a review of the patient/athlete’s record and conducts a thorough assessment, and maintains required documentation.

Adheres to Watson Clinic policies & procedures in the administering, and documenting of medication given, or prescribed by ordering MD (as required by specialty) in patient’s medical record.

Prepares patient for office visit and maintains integrity by maintaining flow of patients, assist with dressing changes, removal of sutures and remove and apply casts and other appliances as directed.

Assist physician in marketing, development, and delivery of sports medicine services
