The Adult Community Services Fort Saskatchewan and Sherwood Park Clinics provide a wide range of addiction and mental health treatment to the residents of the City of Edmonton and surrounding suburban areas. The ACS program adheres to the Edmonton Zone Addiction & Mental Health Principles of Care providing quality, client focused, recovery based, concurrent capable, culturally appropriate care to those seeking supports/services within Addictions and Mental Health. Services are offered to clients and their families in the least intrusive and most appropriate manner, and include assessment, individual and group treatment, and consultation. In this Mental Health Therapist (MHT) position you will work within an interdisciplinary team to provide individual and group treatment, as well as necessary case management to clients with a wide variety of clinical presentations. The MHT engages their client in assessment, treatment, and evaluation of care plans to clients with complex addiction and mental health needs. The MHT works collaboratively with the client’s primary care provider to transition care back to their medical home once stabilized. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of addiction and mental health diagnosis with experience providing treatment for these complex needs and be able to navigate the health system to ensure the coordination of services to best meet the client’s needs. This candidate will be able multitask and effectively manage multiple priorities and demands with a large caseload. This candidate will have a good working knowledge of legislation regarding mental health care including the Alberta Mental Health Act and Community Treatment Orders (CTO).

Description:

As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), you will provide leadership through a wide variety of nursing services to patients (clients, residents) for the purpose of promoting, maintaining or restoring health, mental health and preventing mental illness, injury and disability. You will teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and take necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care, while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
