Randstad Canada is hiring for our client located in the Paradise area. Our client is in the drilling industry, and core responsibilities for the role include dismantling and cleaning pipes, quality control and observing for any defects, and helping out in the warehouse by moving equipment.

Our client is looking for a labourer to begin as soon as possible, in an open ended contract with possibility for permanent hire for a successful candidate.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Remove thread protectors from the pipe ends.
- Clean internal and external thread areas.
- Prepare pipe for SEA Inspection by cleaning internal and external end area of pipe for at least eighteen (18) inches.
- Clean and dry thread and sealing shoulders on drill pipe and/or BHA components.
- As applicable, “handle” drill pipe in readiness for inspection.
- As applicable, “collar” inspected pipe on pipe racks when required.
- Drift pipe by pulling a drift mandrel through the pipe to ensure adequate clearance.
- Following inspection, clean magnetic particle residue from the inspected areas, apply thread lubricant, and replace thread protectors “handling tight”.

Other duties and functions may include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Retrieve solvent, magnetic particles, cleaning/drying compound, thread lubricant, etc. from the storage area as required.
- Assist with the rolling of pipe to and from the inspection unit.
- Clean shop area, including sweeping, trash pick-up, and general maintenance a directed.
- Wash, clean and generally tidy-up inspection units and/or inspection areas.
- Assist yard crew by rolling pipe into position for transfer to storage racks.
- Other duties, as the need arises and as dictated by the lead operator, supervisor, etc.

Qualifications
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and be on your feet walking around
- High School or GED Equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience is not necessary, but knowledge and experience in oilfield tubulars and pipe handling will be beneficial.
- CSA approved steel toed work boots required, but all other PPE provided.
