Job Description

Leo Burnett Toronto is looking for a creative thinker with an eye for design to join our team. You will learn from other designers, art directors and copywriters and have the opportunity to work with a variety of big-name clients. Chemistry within our team is very important - Leo Burnett is looking for an individual who is able to collaborate with people from a variety of departments: account management, project management and senior creative leads. As a production designer, you will be expected to apply design sensibility to execute creative campaigns established by senior creative leads across a number of media channels, whether is print or digital.

A production artist plays a crucial role in the final stages of the creative process, ensuring that designs and artwork are ready for production and meet the necessary specifications. The specific responsibilities of a production artist may vary depending on the industry, company, and project, but generally include the following

Prepare and finalize digital files for print or digital production. Ensure that all design elements meeting production specifications. Check and adjust colours, resolution, and file formats for optimal output. Organize and manage digital files, maintaining a well-structured file system. Archive and retrieve files as needed, ensuring version control. Conduct quality checks on artwork to identify and resolve any errors or inconsistencies. Verify that the final output meets brand guidelines and project requirements. Work closely with designers, art directors, and other team members to understand project requirements. Proficient use of graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Collaborate with print vendors to achieve the desired colour results. Coordinate with print vendors and ensure that production files are suitable for the chosen printing method. Prioritize tasks based on project timelines and urgency. Pay attention to typographic details, ensuring correct font usage, spacing, and alignment. Identify and address any technical issues that may arise during the production process. Troubleshoot and find solutions to challenges related to file formats, colour issues, or printing constraints

Qualifications

Min. 5 years of print and digital design work experience Undergraduate degree or post-secondary certificate in Graphic Design Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) Proficiency in Google Docs/Slides, PowerPoint and Keynote Experience or able to learn new tools and apps used for design (Figma, Sketch, Miro) Able to work in a team environment Able to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas Able to multitask and prioritize effectively Required to have a very keen eye for detail and craft Able to thrive in a high pressure, detail-oriented environment
