Andy Transport is currently looking for Long-Haul Flatbed Drivers to join its growing team. Drivers of flatbeds must have experience combined with physical strength to succeed at this role. This position is a specific trucking job that involves hauling over-sized or wide-load items on a flatbed trailer. Flatbed drivers need few particulars skills due to fact that they are dealing with different types of freight.

Job Description:

·Operate and drive on long distances articulate trucks with different type of flatbed trailer

·Make sure the freight is balanced correctly over the axles and loaded properly

·Secure the cargo according to the regulations established by the authorities (type and number of tie downs is important to be known)

·Able to handle and secure the tarps properly or any other type of covers

·Monitor load limits, using the right tie downs, trailer sizes and weight limits

·Record data regarding the freight’s weight, and hours and mileage traveled

·Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, driver's hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods

·Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles

·Communicate effectively with the public, customers, and co-workers both verbally and in written form

·Provide feedback to supervisor regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems

·Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift. May include, but not limited to, daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, etc.

Requirements:

·Hold a valid Class 1 Driver’s License

·Minimum of 12 months of verifiable driving experience with flatbed

·Fast Card - An Asset

·Clean Driving Abstract (Recently Issued - 3 Months)

·Clean Canadian Criminal Record (Recently Issued - 3 Months)

·Valid Passport

·Eligible for U.S. Visa, if applicable

·Fluent in English and French

Ce poste implique le transport des articles surdimensionnés ou à charge large sur une remorque à plate-forme. Les conducteurs de plates-formes ont besoin des compétences particulières car ils traitent différents types de fret.

Description du poste  :

·Opérer et conduire sur de longues distances des camions articulés avec différents types de remorque à plate-forme.

·S’assurer que le fret est correctement équilibré sur les essieux et correctement chargé.

·Sécuriser la cargaison conformément aux réglementations établies par les autorités (il est très important de connaître le type et le nombre de sangles).

·Capable de manipuler et de fixer correctement les toiles ou tout autre type de couverture.

·Surveiller les limites de charge, en utilisant les bonnes sangles, les tailles de remorques et les limites de poids.

·Enregistrer les données concernant le poids de la cargaison, les heures et le kilométrage parcouru.

·Se conformer à la législation en vigueur, y compris la sécurité d’exploitation, le transport de marchandises, les heures de service du conducteur, la santé et la sécurité au travail, le transport de marchandises dangereuses.

·Signaler les défauts du véhicule, les accidents, les infractions au code de la route, ou les dommages causés aux véhicules.

·Communiquer efficacement avec le public, les clients et les collègues à la fois verbalement et par écrit.

·Fournir une rétroaction au superviseur concernant les problèmes des clients, les problèmes mécaniques ou les problèmes de livraison.

·Remplir tous les documents nécessaires à la fin du quart de travail. Peut inclure, mais sans s’y limiter, les journaux quotidiens, les journaux d’inspection, les reçus de livraison, l’inspection du véhicule, etc.

Exigences:

·Détenir un permis de conduire Classe 1 valide

·Carte Fast – Un atout

·Dossier de conduite sans sanctions (récemment délivré- 3 mois)

·Casier judiciaire canadien sans antécédents (récemment délivré – 3 mois)

·Passeport valide

·Éligible pour obtenir Visa pour les États-Unis, si applicable

·Bonne maîtrise de l’anglais et du français
