Your Opportunity:

The Claresholm Centre for Mental Health & Addictions is a 120-bed facility with an attached outpatient program (community support services) of 40 spaces. There are three primary inpatient units at the site include Concurrent Disorders, Active Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Extended Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Transitions Unit. Professionals at the Centre believe in everyone’s potential for development and success. Our team includes nurses, social workers, psychiatrists, psychologist, physicians, pharmacists, recreational and occupational therapists, dieticians, and other mental health providers. Once a patient is ready for transition and re-entry into community living, follow-up support, outpatient programs and outreach services are coordinated for patients. These form a comprehensive treatment model with various service options for patients. As the successful candidate you will be expected to demonstrate time management and prioritization skills in a rapidly changing environment; be self-directed and show initiative; strong interpersonal and communication skills; collaboration with the interdisciplinary team; problem solving, decision making, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills; patient advocacy using a person-centered approach; and foster positive relationships within a team environment.

Description:

As a Nurse Clinician (NC), you will be responsible for the coordination of an interprofessional team, in the provision of quality patient (client, resident) care in order to meet the operational priorities and requirements within a clinical setting. You will use an integrative leadership approach in assisting, planning, implementing and evaluating care needs, while assuming responsibility for staff assignments, patient flow and clinical resources. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational and assessment skills while working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of mental health diagnosis, symptomology, and related treatment interventions.Working knowledge of psychotropic medications and psychopathology. Working knowledge of relevant legislation is required including the Alberta Mental Health Act and Health Information Act.
