Your Opportunity:

An opportunity is available for a Dietitian I to join the Diabetic Nephropathy Prevention Clinics in Grand Prairie. The position involves providing coverage in specialty diabetes and assisting people with diabetes to prevent or delay diabetic nephropathy. As a successful candidate, you would work closely with an interprofessional team responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of chronic disease management client/patient care plans. Your role as a Dietitian would include acting as a liaison between Nutrition Services and the DNPC and CDM programs, services, and teams. Why Grande Prairie? Description:

As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

You would use nutrition counselling, behavioral change theories/strategies, or health promotion/population strategies as appropriate to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. The position also requires supporting nutrition education, staff training, or other key stakeholders to ensure consistent, accurate, evidence-based nutrition information. Demonstrates initiative, accountability, good time management, decision making ability and strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge, skills and judgment required for independent practice. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with colleagues and clients as a member of a team. Evidence of effective client interviewing, counseling skills in individual and group setting.
