Job Description

The Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms and Corporate Security is currently looking to staff the Security Awareness specialist position.

The Security Awareness Specialist develops and implements communication strategies, awareness programs, and training in line with the strategic priorities of the House of Commons. This role involves analyzing stakeholder needs, providing advice on various approaches, and implementing corresponding programs. Collaboration with working groups, including the Senate, the Parliamentary Protective Service (PPS), and other security partners on Parliament Hill, is essential to design integrated initiatives. In this role, the individual brings expertise in using technological tools to enhance awareness products and evaluates existing activities for improvement or integration into larger-scale programs. Finally, they propose innovative solutions to effectively raise awareness among Members of Parliament, their staff, and House Administration employees about best security practices, both on Parliament Hill and in constituency offices.

Qualifications

Education:

University degree in teaching, communications, marketing or a related field OR an acceptable combination of relevant education, training and experience.

Experience:

Experience in conceptualizing, planning, executing, and managing security programs; Experience in conducting consultations and providing specialized advice on awareness requirements; Experience in developing awareness products, tools, training, and communication; Experience in delivering briefings, awareness sessions, or training; Experience in delivering high-quality services in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines; Experience in providing guidance and direction to senior executives, project teams, and working groups.

Assets :

Experience working with one or more of the following applications, or others: Publisher, Adobe Design, Captivate, Photoshop, Visio, Camtasia, etc.
