Automotive Technician

Canso Ford is looking for a Journeyman Automotive Technician to join its experienced team in Port Hawkesbury. This position involves diligently maintaining, repairing and servicing customer vehicles to ensure both customer safety and satisfaction while contributing to overall departmental success.
What would your duties be as an Automotive Technician at Canso Ford?
Automotive Technicians at Canso Ford are responsible for the safe maintenance and repair of customer vehicles in our repair shop. Duties include but are not limited to:
· Diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and verifying those repairs with a road test.
· Performing routine scheduled maintenance.
· Inspecting vehicles to ensure they meet provincial safety standards and to determine if additional service work is required.
· Explaining procedures and repairs directly to the Service Advisor.
· Encouraging compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
What qualifications and skills are we looking for?
· College diploma or trade school certificate in Automotive Studies, or equivalent.
· Strong aptitude of technical/mechanical repairs.
· Dealership experience preferred.
· Valid driver’s license (driving record check required).
· Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment to achieve common goals.
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
· Ability to stand for long periods of time.
· Basic computer skills.
