Edmonton, Canada Trycewell Partners Inc. Full time

Our client is a rapidly growing Edmonton based Mechanical Engineering Consulting firm looking to immediately hire a Mechanical Engineer with some understanding/background in Pressure Equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility involves review of drawings, mechanical designs calculations, material specifications, purchase requisition and stamping design packages
  • Preparation / review of material take off, material specifications and purchase requisitions.
  • Technical review of vendor quotations in compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage mechanical engineering projects of various sizes and complexity with minimal supervision
  • Provide mentorship to technologists, engineers, and/or designers
  • Creating 3D CAD and drawings models using Autodesk Inventor
  • Working within Mathcad software to create and modify calculations
  • Working within COMPRESS software for the design of pressure equipment
  • Completing FE Analysis using ANSYS Workbench or Inventor FEA
  • Co-ordination with inter-discipline departments, clients / consultants, and inspection agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or E.I.T soon to be eligible for registration
  • Well versed with drafting software such as; Solid Works, AutoPlant. Preference given to candidates with strong experience with Autodesk Inventor.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in these fields: Pressure equipment design in accordance with ASME Section VIII Div. 1, ASME B31.3, and ASME B31.1 (Required)
  • Finite Element Analysis (Inventor or ANSYS Workbench Preferred)
