What You’ll Do

Manage the day- to- day operation of the North Bay Magazine site to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction with respect to both product and service within a safe working environment. This position is unionized and for an evening shift from 3:30 pm to midnight. New hires will have to go through training during day shift before transferring to their official evening work shift. 

Supervise and maintain the North Bay Magazine site on a daily basis. Promote strong and positive working relationships with customers. Receive deliveries and schedule all packaged deliveries to all customers by delivery truck or aircraft. Ensure an adequate and consistent inventory of both packaged and bulk explosives for our customer requirements. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all products (explosive and non explosive). Certify that delivery trucks are in good mechanical condition for the safe delivery and storage of explosive materials. Acquire products and services that are required for the continuance of the day-to-day operations including but not limited to vehicle maintenance and repair, warehouse site maintenance, site road maintenance, snow removal. Complete any and all applicable documents, forms, reports required with regard to business operations of site. Apply and enforce regulatory, health and safety requirements and support the HSE Performance Standards in order to ensure personal safety and the safety of all employees, company assets, and environment and regulatory compliance. Make certain that all regulations, both federally (Explosives Act, Bulk Regulations, WHIMIS) and provincially (OHSA) are adhered to within the operation in regards to personnel workings, product storage, and product transportation. Ensure that company policies and standard operating procedures are up-to-date and followed by the employees. Attend monthly safety meetings in both offices and report these to the Operations Manager.

What We’re Looking For

Education: Completion of high school (Grade 12) with experience in the related fields. Experience: 2 to 3 years of truck driving or dispatch experience. Previous exposure to a combination of office and field work environment. Ability to communicate effectively in the terminology related to the field in the form of verbal and written reports. Proficiency in MS Office is required. Able to get an explosive permit
