Job Description

The Environmental Services Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing work tasks of both housekeeping and trasnport staff in a team environment.  This includes but not limited to patient room cleaning, upkeep of public spaces, transport of patients and specimens, delivery of linens and pick-up of waste with accountability to internal steakholders to ensure quality of service and customer satisfaction. Additional responsibilities will include overseeing daily staff assignments, scheduling tasks, staff orientation and training, quality audits, special projects and other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Minimum OHHA Environmental Services Leadership Program Certification
  • Community College or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years recent, related supervisory experience preferably in a health care setting
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to train and supervise front-line staff in a team environment
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills
  • Positive, responsible and self-motivated and capable of working with minimum supervision
  • Experience in maintaining a safe working environment, with strong understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Experience in managing front-line staff Early and Safe Return to Work situations.
  • Must be proficient in best practice and electronic auditing approaches and processes.
  • Must be proficient in English, both oral and written
  • Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Manager


Additional Information

Currently Days/Evenings/Nights, including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
