Title of Course: Being Human in a Digital World

Compensation 

Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. 

· Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $ per hour. 

· Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $ per hour. 

Duties 

Reporting to the Department Chair or Course Instructor, the duties and responsibilities of the Course Coordinator will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. These include overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course; coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them; assisting in the preparation of marking schemes and coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams; and any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor.

Qualifications 

1. Applicants must hold an MA or PhD in a Humanities or Social Science discipline with a focus on the social implications of digital technology.

2. Evidence of teaching effectiveness in large enrolment online course(s) (, through course evaluations and/or academic references)

3. Familiarity with the features of an online learning management system

4. Evidence of effective course leadership (, working with course coordinators and/or TAs)
