Job Skills / Requirements

Position:  Security Guard
Site: Presstran Industries
City: St. Thomas, Ontario
Status: Part Time
Hours:  Saturday & Sunday 1600 - 0030hr
Pay Rate:  $18.50/hr

The facility adheres to US Homeland Security CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) program access control including inbound and outbound shipments, visitors and contractors. The guard will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions inspecting and logging truck traffic and completing patrols. 

Experience with CTPAT would be an asset. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service along with good computer abilities are all core requirements. 

Duties include but are not limited to: CTPAT Procedures, Weigh Scale Operation, Covid Screening, Access Control, Monitor Security Systems, Conduct Security Patrols, Respond to Emergency Situations. 

Job Description  Working on assigned shifts, you will work full-time shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and responses to incidents.? You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient manner.? You should display excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance.? You will be responsible for signing in contractors and visitors and ensuring they have the proper credentials to gain entry.

  Preferred skills/qualifications Ontario Security Guard Licence First Air/CPR Certification  Excellent English communication and writing skills Strong organization skills Excellent ability to learn, troubleshoot, and provide support for security software systems Ability to think critically and independently problem solve Ability to foster a team Motivation and ability to work independently without direct supervision Proficiency with MS Office applications, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Excellent customer service skills Preference given to those with previous supervisor experience  Qualifications A Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence  Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C  Proficient in English (both oral and written)  Vulnerable Sector Check

Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
Valid Ontario Security License
