Painter Finisher

JOB DESCRIPTION

AAA Canada is looking for a proactive Painter Finisher to join its team.

The Class 2 Painter Finisher works under the normal supervision of the team leader or supervisor. Performs various tasks related to painting and balancing panels in the illuminated sign panel department.

Responsibilities

Masks parts according to specifications or drawings. Prepares paints and lacquers by adding thinner or color using a syringe, gauge, etc., as per detailed instructions. Sprays paint and lacquers on medium complexity panels, involving a single color, using judgment to achieve high-quality finishes and necessary opacity. Prepares the setup for measuring light intensity by adjusting the power supply block to the appropriate voltage as per the drawing. Checks the amount of light passing through the panels using an electronic photometer. Puts parts in the oven, adhering to pre-determined baking time and temperature. Performs touch-ups by sanding, filling, or painting. Ensures the good condition of all spray equipment and other materials. Practices necessary safety standards and good maintenance practices. Performs stencil marking. Performs all other related tasks as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Vocational diploma in painting for the aeronautics or automotive industries or equivalent, or AEP in Industrial Painting combined with 18 months of work experience. Minimum of six (6) months of prior experience in a related job. Ability to read drawings. Ability to apply paint according to specifications and use a photometer to produce the necessary opacity.
