Description
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Plant Engineer will manage projects from conception and design to fabrication and commissioning. Typical projects would include infrastructure upgrades and improvements to systems that support production enhancement of quality or quantity.
The Plant Engineer has a primary function to provide technical leadership to optimize cost, quality, productivity and reliability. This includes leading teams in continuous improvement activities to achieve and sustain results in the areas of Engineering as well as being accountable to research, develop and implement tasks, methodologies and best practices for the Company.

When you join us, you will be;
Lead safety culture and promote positive change
Oversee design, construction, modification and maintenance of equipment, machinery and facilities
Directs quarry operations and ensure sufficient rock inventory for production
Installation and commissioning new production equipment and processes
Troubleshoot and improve existing processes
Providing technical leadership and defining and resolving process problems through individual and team-based continuous improvement activities and structured problem solving methods
Provides engineering oversight to the facility infrastructure (boilers, HVAC, compressed air, power transmission etc.)
Implements project improvements that drive manufacturing performance in efficiency, waste reduction, cost reduction and quality
Making observations and taking measurements directly, as well as collecting and interpreting data from the other technical and operating staff involved in order to develop and implement process improvement
May require some travel within the U.S or Canada
Establishes standards and policies reduce environmental impact
Implementing engineering controls to improve health and safety
Facilitating government inspections and ensuring code compliance
Equipment acquisition
Prepares tendering documents and contracts for external sourcing
Promotes a culture that reinforces Company’s values and expectations
Performs other duties as assigned
Our ideal candidate;
3-5 years progressive industrial production (crushing, screening, or mining experience an asset)
Bachelor of Engineering degree or similar or a suitable combination of experience and education
Excellent time and project management, organizational, production planning, scheduling, and analytical skills
Demonstrated initiative and proven record of taking on projects in a proactive manner to reach strategic outcomes
Established PC & software skills in Microsoft Office applications
Exhibits values of integrity, respect for others, teamwork, collaboration and accountability
Considered a plus if experience includes:
PMP Certification
Mine Supervisor Certificate
Shift Boss Ticket
Six Sigma or Lean Certification
First Aid Training
Mine Rescue Training
