Your Opportunity:

This is your opportunity to join our team of dietitians working at the beautiful Grande Prairie Regional Hospital. As a clinical dietitian, you will be responsible providing direct nutrition care to predominantly adult acute care patients; however, you will also be required to provide coverage to pediatric and neonatal populations. You will see a variety of nutrition challenges including, but not limited to, malnutrition, enteral nutrition and parenteral nutrition along with providing patient education for a variety of conditions. You will be required to demonstrate a Patient First philosophy when providing nutrition care to patients. Excellent time management and interpersonal skills are essential as you will be working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. This position will require you to be part of the on-call dietitian rotation covering weekends and statutory holidays. The city of Grande Prairie is a thriving community full of opportunities. Description:

As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).
