ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Foremost has an immediate opening for a full-time Brakes Welder for our Grande Prairie facility located in Hythe, Alberta. The welder position is responsible for ensuring continuous improvements and performing tasks relating to your classifications with a strong background in operating metal shaping machines such as brakes.

Accountabilities:

∙ Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.

∙ Operated manual or semi-automatic welding: gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), and resistance welding.

∙ Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.

∙ Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines.

∙ Review blueprints and specifications; ensure drawings and specifications will function as designed in environment intended for use.

∙ Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.

∙ Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

∙ High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

∙ A qualified licensed tradesman, is an asset.

∙ CWB tickets are an asset.

∙ Maintains a set of tools to perform welding functions.

∙ Safety Training is an asset but will train as required.
