Loader Operator (6 month contract)

Loader Operators are required to be available to work day and night shifts in a 7 on/ 7 off, 12 hour shift schedule. Please be advised that day and night shift coverage will be required for the successful candidate. This shift schedule allows us to operate in a 24/7 safe production environment and allows you to maximize your time off with friends and family outside of work.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Operate a variety of mobile equipment and tools related to production and or maintenance. Working with the plant operator to optimize fibre moving from storage piles to the plant for storage and the production process. Ensure the highest level of safety standards, including compliance with all applicable government regulations and corporate policies. Perform cleaning tasks and projects inside and outside of equipment daily and as assigned by your supervisor. Report safety incidents and or infractions. Participate in continuous improvement and quality control.

Apprenticeship opportunities exist in trades careers such as millwright, electrician, or heavy-duty mechanic – we select 100% internal candidates into these growth opportunities. On site certified equipment training is provided for employees including man lift, skid-steer, and forklift certification. Level 3 Occupational First Aid training is available for interested employees.

Minimum Requirements (Experience, Education, Qualifications, Skills, Abilities)

A strong safety mindset Ability to and previous experience operating mobile equipment. Equipment Operator certification will be considered an asset. The ability to complete online and paper forms or basic checklists. You are adaptable to changes in work schedule and tasks as required. You are a team player with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Experience in an industrial environment will be considered an asset. You are a strong communicator. Good mechanical aptitude would be considered an asset. Level 3 First Aid Certification would be considered an asset.
