Description:

As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent relevant experience as a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist performing procedures in a corelaboratory including hematology, expanded chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, specimen collection, preparation and general diagnostic imaging, including hospital affiliated training programs. Recent cardiology experience including ECG and Holter Monitor. Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification. Proven interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required. Excellent public relation and a service-oriented manner are essential. Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients/clients, families, staff, inter-disciplinary team members and personnel from other departments in a fast-paced and changing environment. Proven analytic and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, logical/methodical work habits, and demonstrated ability to work independently are required. Candidate must be well organized and flexible. Current phlebotomy experience including venipuncture, micropuncture, blood culture and Type and Screen on all ages and patient types.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent and Relevant Experience with EPIC and Wellsky LIS. Recent CR experience. Familiar with Sysmex XS-1000i, ACL Elite Pro, Ortho Vitros XT 3400, Clinitek Advantus. Recent experience with MUSE, Cardioday, PACS.
