Job Description
Timber-Tech Truss is seeking Wood Truss Builders to join our team. As a Wood Truss Builder, you will be responsible for assembling and pressing wood trusses in a manufacturing environment. This position is required to perform repetitive jobs on the assembly and pressing lines to produce trusses, and is crucial to ensuring the quality and safety of our truss products. No experience is required, on the job training will be provided.

Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position with the working hours of 3:30 PM -2:00 AM, Sunday to Thursday (8 hours of regular time, 2 hours of overtime, and a 30-minute break). On the job training will be provided during the AM shift before transitioning to the PM shift.The starting rate is $19.50 per hour and is negotiable for candidates with relevant work experience.

All PM shift employees will receive a $1.00 per hour shift premium on top of their hourly rate. Group benefits are available after a successful 90 day probation period and employee profit-sharing programs are available after 2 years of service.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Participate in Quality Control and Health & Safety Programs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or situations to the Lead Assembler.
  • Build trusses that meet the expected quality standards.
  • Follow all company policies, processes, procedures, and instructions.

Primary Functions:
  • Interpret shop drawings for overall truss dimensions as well as joint and plate placement.
  • Participate in setting or jigging trusses.
  • Move materials to the assembly-production area.
  • Insert and clamp chords and webs to tables.
  • Ensure all joints are tight.
  • Position and secure the proper connector plates on the top and bottom of all joints as shown on the shop drawing.
  • Verify that connector plates (top and bottom) are of the specified size and type and are correctly positioned.
  • Operate the press when pressing connector plates.
  • Remove trusses from the jig and transfer them to the exit conveyor.
  • Mark each truss as per the shop drawings.
  • Participate in scheduled area inspections using inspection checklist forms.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Previous experience in wood truss building or a related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
