Senior Compressor Technician

AGL On-Site Solutions is looking for a Senior Compressor Technician to join our growing team to support the rental fleet in the HireAir Rental Division and oversee fabrication at AGL On-Site Solutions.

In this key role, you will serve as the primary service and maintenance contact for our valued customers in Alberta and British Columbia, based in our new facility in Rocky View, AB.

As a Senior Compressor Technician you will be responsible for packaging, installing, trouble shooting, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of air compressors, dryers, and packaged air systems. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, customization, packaging, commissioning, and troubleshooting of centrifugal, rotary, and reciprocating compressors to ensure optimal performance.

About the Role:

As an integral member of our specialized team, you will: 

• Have a strong background in working with centrifugal, rotary, and reciprocating compressors.

• Possess excellent problem-solving skills.

• Be dedicated to delivering high-quality work. 

• Be responsible for equipment installations and commissioning, preventive maintenance, diagnostic inspections, troubleshooting and repair of compressed air equipment to ensure that equipment meets operating and quality standards.

• Start and commission new systems with precision.

• Diagnose and repair compressed air and drying systems efficiently.

• Be experienced with electronics, digital controls, mechanical compression, refrigeration theory, and various control and mechanical practices in diverse commercial and industrial settings.

• Retrofit and repair centrifugal compressed air systems, leveraging your knowledge of air compression theory, pipe fitting, and mechanical layouts.

• Ensure proper operation of compressed air equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements and inspections on a wide variety of compressors, dryers, accessories, and additional compressed air components.

• Maintains equipment in a “ready-to-rent,” clean and available status.

• Complete all appropriate documentation accurately for tracking equipment performance and quality assurance.

• Regular travel to customer sites to maintain & service rental equipment. This may require out-of-hours emergency response, overtime and some overnight demands.

• Conduct safety assessments of a continuously changing working environment.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience in a Service Technician role with demonstrable skills in troubleshooting industrial/commercial equipment and mechanical systems.

• Red Seal Millwright preferred.

• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with emphasis on Industrial Maintenance/Air-Gas Rotating Equipment.

• Read and comprehend Layout, GA, P&ID drawings, and wiring diagrams.

• A positive, team-focused attitude.

• Able to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and on-call hours as required, and must be able to work independently in remote locations.

• Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, adaptability, and a strong customer service focus.

• Demonstrated sense of urgency and self-initiative, and the personal drive to be successful.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Must possess basic set of industrial tools, including industrial hand tools, air tools, torque wrenches, and multimeters.

• Able to travel in an assigned territory, and able to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays, sometimes with short notice. Overnight travel may occasionally be required.

• Must possess a valid driver's license.

• Physically able to climb ladders, lift or carry equipment weighing up to twenty-five pounds and make visual inspections.

• Job conditions may require twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, or grasping, and working in confined spaces as permitted.

• While wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, incumbent will enter areas with chemical, physical, and biological hazards.

• Must be able to successfully perform the above while meeting the Company and Customer’s safety requirements as per CORE requirements. Oil field safety experience a plus.
