Description

Reporting to the Operation Manager the Converting Superintendent will act as a support to the Operation Manager and oversee the productivity and quality standards of all converting operations. Maintains all Health & Safety Programs and perform general and administrative requirements.

What you will be doing:

Perform “Safety Observations” to ensure specific safety rules, procedures, housekeeping, proactive accident prevention and conscious “safety” behaviours are adhered to and enforced if necessary Ensure that Production and safety goals are communicated and met each year by liaison with all employees and Managers, providing necessary training and updates to meet required legislation Ensure that all required H&S forms and documentation by Supervisors and Production Floor Team is adhered to in compliance with Legislative requirements Oversee productivity and quality standards of all manufactured products. To develop, meet and or exceed annual production objectives in regards to efficiency targets and shrinkage targets Identify and lead initiatives in areas within the Production Operation where costs can be reduced and growth can be maximized Ensure that the Labour Costs are effectively managed by the Operation Leaders and ensure that the goals are being met for the Production Hourly Team Ensure quality standards are met on raw materials and converted products Facilitate regular meetings with the Supervisory/ Management staff to ensure current Production, Staffing, Quality, Health & Safety and or any other issues are considered and resolved Support Management decisions, policies and goals Consider and gather all views and facts before rendering decisions especially at the 2nd level of the open door policy Ensure that the Performance Management Program is conducted and utilized to increase the capabilities of direct reports and Supervisory Staff and is in line with the overall goals for the division and production department/team Perform general and administrative requirements to provide reports as required by the Operation Manager and/or any Senior Manager Review and approve any Production or Quality Standards Interact with the other departments as required Conduct research related to plant activities, as assigned Participate and lead any continuous improvement projects, meetings, initiatives, committees, and or trials, as assigned Perform other tasks or jobs as assigned

What you will bring to the table:

Bachelor Degree Required Knowledge of OH&S Act First Aid and CPR Problem solving skills Organization skills Leadership and supervisory skills Minimum 7 – 10 year experience in process industry, high paced environment Previous experience in CPG/Packaging Industry is an asset
