Overnight Maintenance Worker

The Overnight Maintenance Worker schedule is11:30 pm to 7:30 am shift supporting the Engineering team inmaintaining the overall appearance and internal workings of theHotel.

Duties andResponsibilities

  • Attendmaintenance calls to guest rooms and publicspaces.
  • Interact and communicate with hotelguests respectfully and pleasantly.
  • Completenightly hotel rounds which may include: firepit checks monitoringfor equipment alarms replacing burnt out lightbulbs checking dooroperations window checks vehicle checksetc.
  • Completing general maintenance and repairwork in all areas of the Hotel including kitchens restaurants andlounges spa and fitness area public washrooms and back of houseareas
  • Performing assigned special maintenanceprojects such as painting shop organization hanging picturesinstalling seasonal decorations ice rink maintenance guest roommaintenance toilet replacement working with overnight contractorsetc.
  • Perform swimming pool and whirlpoolmaintenance; includes cleaning of pool surfaces backwashing andfilling of the pools and maintaining proper pool water chemistrythough routine water checks and addition of poolchemicals.
  • Assisting with maintaining thephysical appearance of the Hotel grounds including collectinggarbage sanding and salting of slippery walkways chipping iceplowing and shoveling snow watering grassetc.
  • Common duties include replacing lightbulbsminor plumbing repairs painting garbage and recycling removalassisting with other maintenance tasks asassigned.
  • Record work completed on work ordersand complete end of shift information pass on to oncomingworkers.
  • Perform fire watch as needed;participate in hotel emergency responsepolicy.

Qualifications:

  • Can demonstratemechanical aptitude from past workexperience.
  • Hotel maintenance experiencepreferred.
  • Familiar with simpleplumbing
  • Available to work an 11:30 pm to 7:30am shift.
  • Able to meet the physical demands ofthe position.
  • Keen attention todetail
  • Reliable andselfmotivated
  • Able to work independently and toproblemsolve responsibly.
  • Able to communicateeffectively and pleasantly in English with co workers and hotelguests; ability to communicate by radio ability to read and writeEnglish.
  • Able to be insured to operate motorvehicle.
  • Basic computerskills
