Responsibilities

What your day will look like:

Design and Project Coordination

Assist project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design (CADD/BIM design) for the following types of structural projects:o Marine Structures;o Industrial projects, ando Buildings Prepare documents including construction drawings, contract specifications, calculations, and quantity take off estimates. Assist project managers and liaise with multidisciplinary team members including engineers, planners, architects and technical and administrative support staff. Perform field work for structural assessments and periodic site inspections during construction as well as preparation of follow up reporting. Option to assist with further fieldwork on an as needed basis to provide construction observation, monitoring and data collection activities.

Business Development

Contribute to business development activities, including proposal preparation (initiation and submission), reports and presentations, and client liaison.

Learning & Development

Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development. Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited college program in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Engineering Technology, CAD technology, or from a career college in Engineering CAD / BIM Technology. Five to Ten years' related work experience.

Experience

Experience in the preliminary and detailed design of marine, industrial, building and bridge projects. Proficient in the use of AutoCAD software. Experience with Revit and Civil 3D would be an asset. Willingness to advance skills with Revit/Civil 3D software. Ability to read, understand and produce contract drawings in 2D and 3D. Knowledge in construction techniques for Marine, Structural or Civil projects. Previous experience in a consulting/construction environment would be considered an asset. Strong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in a team environment.
