We are currently recruiting for Registered Early Childhood Educators or equivalent (Child and Youth Worker or OCT Member) and Assistant Educators for our Full Day and Before & After school programs.

_ New June 2024 Pay Scales _

RECE or Equivalent: $25.06 - $28.64/hour plus Wage Enhancement Grant ($2.00/hr), Canada Wide Early Learning & Child Care (up to $1.00/hr for RECEs where applicable) and Split Shift Premium ($2.00/hr for Split Shift positions).

Assistant $19.61 - $22.41/hour plus Wage Enhancement Grant ($2.00/hr) and Split Shift Premium ($2.00/hr for Split Shift positions).

Position Types:
Full-time Split Shift Position (25-40 hours/week): Candidates must be available to work a split-shift (morning and afternoon) in our Before & After School programs Monday-Friday to be considered.
Full-Time Full Day Position (40 hours/week): Candidates must be available to work a 8-hour shift Monday-Friday to be considered.

POSITION SUMMARY

To ensure operational and curriculum requirements are met in compliance with all Ministry and organizational guidelines. To ensure the delivery of a developmentally appropriate, play based program by applying specialized skills and knowledge related to early childhood education. To effectively collaborate and communicate with other employees, families and outside agencies in an effort to properly support the needs of individual children.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education (or approved equivalency) from a recognized college or university (for ECE position).
A recent Police Vulnerable Sector Check
Health assessment and up-to-date record of immunization as outlined by legislation.
Up-to-date registration with the College of ECEs (if applicable).
Up-to-date certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid (training provided upon selection if required).
Knowledge of the developmental needs of children and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge.
Experience with program design and implementation, preferably play/inquiry based with the use of pedagogical documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively and establish appropriate relationships with families, caregivers and other professionals.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professional disposition.
Have the physical and emotional stamina to supervise children in a variety of settings including outdoor public spaces.
