BC Cancer– East Kootenay Regional Hospital Regular, Full-Time (1.0 FTE, or negotiable if multiple candidates wish to share FTE) Cranbrook, BC The East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook provides general outpatient medical oncology services. The hospital is looking for a General Practitioner in Oncology to join our well‑established team. BC has among the best cancer‑control results in the country, with access to advanced drug therapies. Our provincial structure supports collaboration across and within tumour groups, providing ample opportunities for research, teaching and clinical practice. Qualifications Eligible for licensure as a specialist in British Columbia. Canadian certification (FRCP, FRCS or CCFP) at the time of appointment. Suitable for appointment to the University of British Columbia. No previous experience in medical oncology is required; the department will support the successful applicant in developing the necessary expertise. Commitment to the shared responsibility of reconciliation in Canada (TRC 2015, BC Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act 2019). Knowledge of the social, economic, political and historical realities affecting Indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety, anti‑racism, and related reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
