About the Opportunity

We're looking for someone with 4+ years of experience and a passion to want to exercise and grow their abilities as a Civil Technologist or Civil Engineer. The ideal candidate appreciates the opportunities that come with working for a smaller company and will want to make a noticeable difference in an essential role that encourages diversified growth. In this role, you will support the civil design component for a wide variety of projects. You will assist our civil and water resources engineering teams. As a key member of the team and company, you will work together with staff and directly with clients on numerous active projects. You will work directly with corporate managers and owners and will have responsibilities related to:


  • Site plan design for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional developments
  • The design of linear infrastructure including private and municipal roadways conveying storm water, sanitary, watermains and utilities
  • Culvert and water crossing design
  • Multi-lot subdivision design
  • Municipal infrastructure, urban drainage, and stormwater management
  • Preparation of technical reports, approvals, specifications, and calculations
  • Field inspection of municipal services


Experience, Education, Skills:

  • Graduated from a Civil Engineering or Technology Program or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4+ years experience, preferably in the consulting industry
  • Certified Engineering E.I.T. or P.Eng designation is valued but not necessary
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation is valued but not necessary
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Possess a valid Class G driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Experience and proficiency using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/InRoads associated with municipal infrastructure projects

The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of municipal engineering and land development projects, focusing on civil design. The successful candidate will have:


  • Extensive knowledge preparing CAD drawings for approvals and construction
  • Extensive knowledge preparing site plans, functional servicing reports and stormwater management and construction management reports.
  • Knowledge of subdivision design and construction administration.
  • Extensive knowledge of local municipality standards, specifications, tendering and approvals process.
  • Extensive knowledge of municipal sewer design in accordance with local policies and procedures.
  • Experience being the main point of contact
  • Proficient in the analysis, design and contract administration of water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer design, stormwater management and grading and drainage design.
