As a Service Desk Technician, working remotely and/or from the Windswept IT head office in Ottawa, you will be working with a team of passionate customer service oriented IT Professionals all working together to provide the very best in Managed IT Support Services.

Duties:

  • Provide outstanding customer service to our clients
  • Work with service tickets and queues to resolve or escalate issues as needed
  • Capture all work activity within the ticket system in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot and attempt to solve IT related problems over the phone, via email, and chat.
  • Work with RMM tools to assist users in various geographical locations
  • Optionally work as part of our on-call/ after-hours team, based on a rotating schedule
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation
  • Assist with new system preps and occasional in-house system repairs

Qualifications:

  • Experience providing superior end user support. Desktop and server infrastructures.
  • Eager to learn, and work with new and existing technologies
  • Experience with all current versions of Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems
  • Experience with all current versions of Microsoft Server Operating Systems
  • Experience with all current versions of Microsoft Office, Adobe, Internet Explorer and Anti-Virus/Malware Applications
  • Experience with Microsoft Server administration and active directory
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange server, local and online.
  • Experience with firewall and VPN technologies
  • Experience with various hypervisor technologies. Hyper-V/VMware
  • Solid understanding of computer hardware and peripherals
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles

  • Strong attention to detail and customer-service mindset.
  • Successful completion of post-secondary degree/diploma in Computer Science or related field at a recognized academic institution or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent Written and Verbal English Language
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License with clean driving history
  • Security Clearance Eligible

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with remote support tools, Remote Desktop, TeamViewer, Splashtop and similar.
  • Experience working with and managing Microsoft 365 suite of applications
  • Experience working with hosting platforms, Azure and AWS
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, MSCP, CCNA, etc.
  • Experience working with an MSP
  • Experience with iOS and Android support
