POSITION DESCRIPTION:


Our client, a highly respected Fire Safety Engineering Consulting Firm located across Canada, is currently seeking an Fire Protection Engineer (P.Eng) to join their team. Someone who can successfully manage and engineer unique and challenging projects while supporting core business activities. As our ideal candidate, you will have a minimum of 4-5 years experience practicing engineering design and consultation within life safety systems, including fire protection, fire safety plans, and code compliance analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES:


  • 4-5 years fire protection engineering experience, with a focus on code consulting, or Architectural experience with extensive code consulting knowledge
  • Thorough knowledge of Canadian national and provincial building and fire codes
  • Extensive client relationship management during the various stages of a project (code review, design, construction, commissioning, AHJ interface)
  • An active member of fire protection or other industry-based organization
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience in fire alarm design, design review, and integrated testing/commissioning.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the National and Ontario Building and Fire Codes as applicable to fire protection.
  • Proven experience as a Code Consultant/Fire Protection Engineer, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • A degree in Engineering or Applied Science. Preferably in Fire Safety Engineering.
  • Previous experience in the design of fire suppression systems, fire pumps and water supplies for firefighting in commercial, healthcare, industrial and education projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to address challenging or turn-around situations in response to challenging priorities in the market.
  • Excellent technical, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng.)
  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Applied Science
