Application Information Employer Name: Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Services Inc. Responsibilities Provide direct supervision to children in the program. Work days, evenings & overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required. Work directly in an Intervention Safe Home Setting if the family is placed in a YTL- Safe Home. Responsible for working with the needs of family groups. Introduce intervention and prevention approaches for families and community. Organize an initial Case Review with child protection services to review the request for services. Organize a Family Case Conference with the Intervention response team, parents, children, and extended family supports. Qualifications Youth Care Worker Certificate/Diploma or Early Childhood Development or Post-Secondary training in the human service field that includes some study in child and behavior psychology and group work. Experience in a residential setting. Experience and ability to work with children. Understanding of First Nations issues and commitment to First Nation people. Ability to use professional judgment and critical thinking. Engage in cultural opportunities and planning for parents, children and family. Knowledge of the Nehiyew, Nakota, Lakota and Anishinabek and the political and social objectives of the YTCCFS Inc. member First Nations. Knowledge and understanding of the impacts of colonialism on First Nation people, Indian Residential Schools, intergenerational trauma and how these factors impact individuals and families; and the influence of the child welfare system in First Nations communities. #J-18808-Ljbffr
